To cope with the threatening political storm of oppression facing the female community - the defunding of planned parenthood - and the general dismantling of female empowerment - I chose to act. I created an Etsy account where I sold my products, and other female artists work. My product - a nasty woman candle - supports Planned Parenthood. I now have 75% of my profits donated to PP.
The Logo: A design paying homage to both the groovy women of the 60's - who fought for sexual heath rights first - and the uterus itself.
The Candle: Starting with a traditional religious figure, I collage a modern heroine, adorn her with paint, and then glitter modge podge onto a prayer candle. With the exception of the Mother candle which is a tasteful madonna with a pierced clitoris hallo and vulva gown.
Allison Brooks, both a model and a photographer, uses hand gestures as a significant part in both her modeling and directing. Hands contribute to her overlying aesthetic in front and behind the camera. I designed a logo to reflect this.
Avocado Baby was a full product line I created.
The fabric pattern, doll faces, clothes altering, logo, and website design were all my creation!
So much fun!
A design I created for my family reunion tote bags. A modern take of a Celtic design. I incorporated icons that referenced the ancestors of my family - Catholic Irish Minnesotan Farmers.
